What’s New?

A Warm Welcome to our Interim Executive Director!

September 29th, 2016

Dear Friends,
On August 9th, we celebrated Chris Messinger’s extraordinary work leading Boston Mobilization over the past ten years, and wished him the best as he takes on new challenges. We are writing to let you know we have just hired an experienced Interim Executive Director, Sue Heilman, to lead us as we conduct a robust search for a permanent leader.

Sue brings over 25 years of experience growing mission-based organizations. She has served as Interim Executive Director with numerous nonprofits, most recently for the Massachusetts Appleseed Center for Law and Justice and before that for MassEquality. For 18 years, Sue led Horizons for Homeless Children as it grew from a budget of $30,000 to $8.5 million. We are indeed fortunate to have Sue on board! She can be reached at sue@bostonmobilization.org.
Please be assured that we are continuing our well-respected social justice leadership work with teens and community partners during this time of transition. Our core Sub/Urban Justice program has ambitious plans for the coming year; we are embarking on an exciting new project to engage more teens in voting; our training work with a variety of communities, schools, and youth groups continues to grow; and our finances are on track to support current programs and planned growth.

We thank you warmly for your past and future support of empowering young people on their journey to leadership for justice.

Most Sincerely,

Erin Rodriguez
